PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN-ADMISSION + CASH BAR
The best art party in town just got even cooler thanks to the opening of Vanishing Ice: Alpine and Polar Landscapes in Art 1775 - 2012. We'll be celebrating with arctic -inspired treats and activities and welcoming all of our new exhibitions - Made in Calgary: The 2000s, Where Are The Children? and From Our Collection: Searching for the Northwest Passage - with music, visuals, libations and much, much more.
Kline, Vancouver, BC
Lost amidst an unfamiliar, featureless, grey landscape, Kline begins to rebuild his world, one forlorn beat and dulcet synth at a time. Introspective and calculated, this solo producer creates expressive landscapes that glitter on twilit streets and dance from room to room with ethereal grace.

Shaani Cage, Calgary, AB
Brothers Aleem and Kaleem Khan are taking a different approach to Calgary’s standard stable of sounds: soulful R&B gently sways atop bounce-beat wanderings and Shaani Cage shimmers like a ‘70s movie mirage, at once timeless and contemporary. And with Sanctums’ Evangelos Typist mastering the efforts, Shaani Cage emerge fully formed, a delectable platter of gentle dreams that inform your waking reality.
Three times a year, Glenbow keeps the doors open after dark and turns the music up for the best art party in town. Launch Parties make the art on display come to life in new ways and give you a different museum experience than you would get during normal daytime hours. Launch parties are open to everyone and are pay-what-you-can admission.
Glenbow's Launch Parties began in 2009 and have since become one of Calgary's favourite see-and-be-seen events. The party is a great way to celebrate the opening of feature exhibitions, but it's also a curated event where we invite local musicians and performers from Calgary's creative community to entertain the crowd.
