Glenbow loves the community we live and work in, and on Sunday, March 18, with generous support from Chevron Canada, we're going to celebrate our amazing city with free admission to the museum all day! Join us for the fifth annual Community Day and enjoy the museum with your family, friends and neighbours.

Glenbow is located in downtown Calgary in the heart of Calgary's Cultural District, across from the Calgary Tower at 130 9 Ave SE.

Public Transportation

We encourage people to travel light and take public transportation downtown to visit Glenbow on Community Day.

By CTrain

We are conveniently located one block south of Calgary's light rail transit (LRT) line. The CTrain operates on a 10-15 minute schedule on weekends.

From north or west locations:

Take the Somerset/Bridlewood (Red line) train to Centre Street station.

From east locations:

Take 69th Street (Blue line) train to City Hall station.

From south locations:

Take the Crowfoot train (Red line) to City Hall station.

By Bus

Calgary Transit bus service also delivers visitors close to our doors. There are many routes from all quadrants of the city which travel to the downtown core. For more information on weekend service bus schedules, contact Calgary Transit at: or phone: 403.262.1000


Check out Downtown Calgary's website for a map of nearby parking. City of Calgary ParkPlus parking lots charge only $5 on weekends. Street parking on surrounding streets and avenues is free on Sundays.

Wheel Chair Access

Glenbow is wheel chair accessible and has two (2) wheel chairs available, free of charge, for visitor use. Photo ID or Credit Card needed for security deposit.

Coat Check

A complimentary coat check is available, as well as a limited number of lockers that will accommodate valuable items. Please leave large bags and bulky items at home, as the coat check may fill up quickly.

Visiting with a Family

Camera / Media Policy

Photography is encouraged at Glenbow, except in galleries where signs are posted prohibiting photography or video. Tripods and selfie-sticks are not permitted in the galleries. As you take photos, please keep the safety of the art collection in mind and be courteous to other visitors. We invite you to tag us on your social media posts with #Glenbow.
