The following will clauses are provided as examples only. We suggest that you or your client consult Glenbow Museum's office to ensure the bequest may be fulfilled as intended.
- I give, devise, and bequeath to Glenbow Museum (dollar amount or gift of property or portion of the residue) to be used in such manner as the Board may direct.
- I give, devise, and bequeath to Glenbow Museum (dollar amount or gift of property or portion of the residue) in support of (your choice of program). At any time, in the judgement of the Board, the designated use of this bequest is no longer practicable or appropriate, then the Board shall use the bequest to further the general purposes of the museum, giving consideration where possible to my special interest as described above.
- I give, devise, and bequeath to Glenbow Museum (dollar amount or gift of property or portion of the residue) in Glenbow Museum's _____________________ endowment.
After any of the above, the following wording should be included:
"Recognizing that at some time in the future it may be found that the income from the fund can not be usefully applied for the expressed purpose, then the income and capital may be used for any other related purpose approved by the Board of Governors of Glenbow Museum which is within the general aims and objectives of Glenbow, keeping in mind the original wishes of the donor."
"The receipt of the person who professes to be the proper agent of Glenbow Museum to receive this bequest shall be sufficient discharge therefore, and my Trustee shall be under no obligation to see that the trusts thereof are carried out."
"Any matching grants obtainable as a result of this bequest shall be used at the discretion of the Governors of Glenbow to ensure or enhance the continuance of the fund for the purposes intended."
