Diary, part 1. -- 1901-1902. -- 84 pages. -- Consists of the diary of Thomas Riley, whose Hounsfield Lodge Farm later became the districts of Hounsfield Heights, Hillhurst and Sunnyside in Calgary, Alberta. The entries describe his farm and ranch activities, family happenings, local meetings and the weather. He mentions Calgary events (including shooting of Simpson at the Atlantic hotel, visit of Duke of York); national events (including elections, the Doukhobor trek); and international events (including death of Queen Victoria, earthquake in Caribbean).
