M-9652-1 Early family correspondence. -- 1839, 1894-1900. -- Includes letter written by Cecil Rice-Jones' great-great grandfather to his great grandfather, R.F. Wilson (1839); note to Cecil from his godfather, the Bishop of Lincoln (1894); etters to Cecil at Hurstpierpoint College from his mother (1896); and letters to Cecil in Canada (1899-1900). Includes first communion certificate (1894) and swimming certificate (1896)

M-9652-3 Letters from "Boo" Shears to "Rouser" [Cecil Rice-Jones]. -- 1898-1900. -- Includes Boo's graduation photograph with the annotation 'Went on to be a Missionary but died in early 1900's".
M-9652-4 Family corespondence. -- 1908-1919. -- Includes letters to Cecil from his brother Arthur Phillip Rice-Jones, and letters to "May" from "Howard". Includes receipt for final payment on land at SE-5-34-8-W4.

M-9652-6 Family correspondence. -- 1960s-1980. -- Includes probate of Cecil's will (1973);and letters to Art Rice-Jones from his mother Emily Rice-Jones.
Series 2 South African War records. -- 1900-1901

Diary and discharge certificate while serving in Strathcona's Horse during the South African War. -- 1900-1901. -- 42 pages (transcript). --He joined up at Maple Creek, Saskatchewan. The diary includes entries about his experiences in South Africa, and the song "Transport Monterey" about the ship which carried soldiers from Canada.

Note: The original diary is held by the Museum of the Regiments in Calgary.

M-1036 and oversize Biographical sketch of Cecil Rice-Jones and farm papers. -- 1919, 1922 and n.d. -- Includes farm and wheat accounts from Veteran (1921); UFA life membership certificate (1919); and tribute to him from the citizens of Veteran..
M-9652-7 Miscellany. -- Includes recipes for furniture polish and Elliman's Embrocation (a muscle rub).
