Glenbow Museum School is an inquiry-based program that brings a classroom to the museum for an entire week as part of a long-term study. The study begins at school, deepens at the museum and returns to school for further action.
As part of the Chevron Open Minds School Program, the philosophy of this teacher-driven program is based on a museum-teacher collaboration. There is no set agenda. Each class, each student, each teacher is unique. With that in mind, it is the teacher and the Museum School Coordinator who co-develop the overall approach for each individual class visit. Working together, museum and school explore personalized and imaginative scenarios that engage all learners. The result is a catalyst for learning activities throughout the year that inspire and promote critical thinking and problem solving.
